C Responsibilities of Investors

To protect your wealth and facilitate smooth operations, investors have the following vital responsibilities:

  • Provide Accurate Information: Furnish complete, authentic, and accurate personal, financial, tax, and address details on application forms and KYC portals.
  • Complete Mandatory KYC: Maintain compliant KYC status with updated PAN, valid address proof, and verified mobile number and email address registered with KRAs.
  • Read Scheme Documents Carefully: Read the Scheme Information Document (SID), Risk-o-meter, and Key Information Memorandum (KIM) to understand asset allocations and scheme risks before investing.
  • Transact Through Authorized Banking Channels: Remit all investment sums exclusively through your own verified bank account via cheques, Net Banking, NEFT, RTGS, NACH mandate, or UPI. Cash transactions or third-party payments are strictly impermissible.
  • Verify Intermediary Credentials: Deal only with SEBI/AMFI registered entities. Verify our AMFI Registration Number (ARN: 307972) and Employee Unique Identification Number (EUIN: E584848).
  • Safeguard Account Credentials: Never share passwords, MPINs, or OTPs with any distributor, employee, or third party.
  • Review Portfolio Periodically: Monitor your statements, dividends, redemptions, and performance periodically against your financial milestones.

D Dos and Don'ts for Mutual Fund Investors

Follow these essential guidelines to safeguard your investments and ensure an orderly wealth-building journey:

DOs
  • Invest based on goals: Align each SIP or lumpsum investment with a clear timeframe (retirement, child education, house purchase).
  • Diversify your portfolio: Allocate across equity, debt, and hybrid categories to mitigate volatility.
  • Review periodically: Review your asset allocation once or twice a year to ensure alignment with life goals.
  • Check KYC status: Verify that your KYC is "Validated" on CVL / CAMS KRA with your updated mobile and email.
  • Check Risk-o-meter: Verify whether the scheme risk profile (Low to Very High) matches your personal risk tolerance.
  • Retain transaction records: Keep copies of transaction slips, e-acknowledgments, and CAS for income tax filings.
DON'Ts
  • Don't invest based on rumors: Never act on unsolicited stock/fund tips, social media hype, or WhatsApp forwards.
  • Don't fall for guaranteed returns: Mutual funds never promise or guarantee returns. Any promise of assured yield is fraudulent.
  • Don't ignore risk factors: Never invest in high-beta or sector funds without understanding the downside potential.
  • Don't sign blank forms: Never sign blank application slips or mandate forms under any pretext.
  • Don't pay cash: Never transfer funds into individual accounts of distributors or agents. All payments must go directly to the scheme / AMC.
  • Don't panic in market dips: Avoid premature stop-SIP decisions during standard short-term market corrections.
